Climb Overview | Mt. Kilimanjaro climb, a journey that promises not just a summit triumph but an immersive experience in Tanzania’s natural wonders. Our expert-guided trek begins at the iconic Machame Gate, winding through diverse landscapes from lush rainforests to alpine deserts. As you ascend, be prepared for awe-inspiring views of glaciers and vast plains. Our carefully crafted itinerary allows for acclimatization, increasing your chances of reaching Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. Detailed Itinerary Accompanied by experienced guides and a dedicated team, you’ll not only conquer Kilimanjaro but forge lasting memories against the breathtaking backdrop of this majestic mountain. Join us for a transformative adventure that goes beyond the summit—a true exploration of self and nature. Day 01 | ARRIVAL Arrive at Kilimanjaro International / Arusha Airport where our Kilimanjaro climbing expert will meet you outside the arrival hall and usher you into a waiting transfer car that is private for you. You will be transferred to a hotel in Moshi in the base town for climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, where you will check in. Overnight at the Lodge. Meals: Dinner | Breakfast ACCOMMODATION: Panama Garden Resort Day 02 | Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut Drive from the hotel to Marangu Gate for registration. Our porters prepare and pack the supplies and luggage before we start our ascent along the forest trail, covered with mist and dripping with beards of moss. We will spend our first night at Mandara Hut, a group of wooden A-framed huts set in a forest clearing. Water is piped into the camp from springs above, and flush toilets are behind the main hut. Elevation (m): 1800m to 2700m, Distance: 7 km, Meals: Dinner | Lunch | Breakfast ACCOMODATION: Mandara Hut Day 04 | Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut From Mandara Hut the trail passes through a short stretch of forest, skirting the base of the Maundi Crater emerging into the transition zone from rainforest to moorland. After about 6 hours from here, we will reach the Horombo Hut where will we stay overnight. Make the most of the hot washing water available here. Elevation (m): 2700m to 3720m, Distance: 12 km, Meals: Dinner | Lunch | Breakfast ACCOMODATION: Horombo Hut Day 05 | Kibo Hut to Summit to Horombo Hut We will wake up around 23:30 pm, and after some tea and biscuits we will set off into the night. It will be a tough challenge. The first section of the trail consists of a rocky path to Hans Meyer point (5250m). The path then zigzags up to Gillman’s point (5681m) on the crater rim. This section is very steep with much scree. From Gillman’s Point, we could encounter snow all the way up to Uhuru peak (5895m), the highest point in Africa. Weather conditions on the summit will determine how long we will be able to spend, taking photographs before the 3 hours descent back to Kibo Hut. After a short rest, we gather all the gear we left behind for the ascent and head down to Horombo Hut. Later in the evening, we enjoy our last dinner on the mountain and a well-earned sleep. Elevation (m): 4700m to 5895m to 3720m, Distance: 21 km, Meals: Dinner | Lunch | Breakfast ACCOMMODATION: Horombo Hut Day 06 | Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate We descend down to the Marangu Gate to receive your summit certificates. At lower elevations, it can be wet and muddy. Gaiters and trekking poles will help. Shorts and t-shirts will be suitable (keep rain gear and warmer clothing handy). Day 01 | Arusha – Momella gate – Mariakamba Hut Hiking time: 5-6 h Distance: 14 km Ascent: 950 m Embark on a morning hike from your lodge to Arusha National Park’s Momella Gate (1580 m), guided by an armed ranger. Traverse open grassland, spotting buffalo and warthogs. The climb through Montane forest offers glimpses of wildlife like Black and White Colobus monkeys. Pause for lunch at the Fig Tree arch or Maio Waterfalls, surrounded by diverse birdlife. Descend to the crater floor, marveling at towering cliffs and the Ash Cone, before reaching Miriakamba Hut (2515 m) for a relaxing evening with stunning views of the plains towards Kilimanjaro. Meals: Breakfast| Lunch | Dinner ACCOMMODATION: Mariakamba Hut Day 02 | Miriakamba Hut (2514 m) to Saddle Hut (3566 m) Hiking time: 4-5 h Distance: 6,5 km Ascent: 1050 m The trek from Miriakamba Hut to the Saddle Hut which lies just below Little Meru is a short day but a steep climb. You slowly ascend through the lush Montane forest to reach the halfway point of Elephant Ridge Mgongo wa Tembo – apparently, an elephant fell into the crater here!). From here you can enjoy excellent views of the summit ridge and across the crater floor. The path continues in a serpentine fashion steadily upwards through giant heather and other fascinating moorland vegetation to reach Saddle Hut (3566 m) where lunch will be provided. After a short break, you will proceed to ascend Little Meru (3801 m) as part of your acclimatization program. If you are lucky and the weather is clear you will be rewarded with stunning views across the Maasai plains towards Kilimanjaro. Meals: Breakfast| Lunch | Dinner ACCOMMODATION: Saddle Hut Day 04 | Saddle Hut – Summit Attempt – Miriakamba Hut Hike distance 5km ascent + 18km descent, 4 – 5 hrs ascent + 6-8 hours descend, 1000m ascent, Altitude: 4566m Your guide will wake you at 00:30 for tea and biscuits. You will then begin your summit attempt at 1:30 am. The trail starts off on a steep grade from Rhino Point (3800 m) to Cobra Point (4350 m). In the last hour of the hike, you will scramble on a rocky ridge between the crater and inner cliffs of Meru. You will reach the summit of Meru (4565 m) at sunrise with spectacular views of Mt. Meru Ash Tray and Mt. Kilimanjaro. Enjoy your views then descend to Saddle Hut for a short break. You will then continue descending to Miriakamba Hut (2500 m) for dinner and overnight. Meals: Breakfast| Lunch | Dinner ACCOMODATION: Mariakamba Hut Day 05 | Miriakamba Hut – Momella Gate – Arusha Duration: 2-3 hours of hiking 1100m Descend After a long rest and breakfast, we will begin our final descent to Momella gate. We will hike through forests and meadows where it is likely to spot wildlife. At the base of Mt. Meru, you will be greeted by our driver who will take you back to Arusha where you will be dropped off at your booked hotel. Day 01 | Arrival Nairobi, Kenya On this arrival day you will be met at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi by our Representative who will take to your hotel within the City for your first night, with pre-safari briefing on your way and arrival at the hotel. You will then be left to relax at your hotel. Overnight at The Sarova Staley Hotel. Booked on Bed and Breakfast. Day 02 | Masai Mara Breakfast at the hotel then you will be transferred to Wilson Airport for your morning flight to the Masai Mara Game Reserve. You will be met at the Airstrip in Masai Mara on arrival by your safari guide who will be your private guide for the Kenyan side. He will help oad your luggage in a waiting 4×4 safari jeep and you will head to the lodge / camp for lunch with game viewing on the way. After lunch we go for an afternoon game drive then check in back at the lodge/ camp for dinner and overnight. Overnight at Sand River Masai Mara Camp. All meals included. Day 03 – 05 | Full day Masai Mara During these days you can go for a sunrise game drive if you wish to spot some nocturnal animals as they retire back to their hiding after a night out of hunting or simply have a relaxed breakfast in the morning at your own pace. You will then head out for a full day of game drives after breakfast with Picnic lunch included or with a lunch break at the camp for hot unch and some rest. Day 06 | Masai Mara – Isebania Border – Serengeti After an early breakfast, check out and head to Isebania Border for Tanzanian visas. Cross over to Tanzania, where our guide takes over (Note: 4×4 safari jeeps change at the border). Drive through Nyamongo Village and Mugumu to enter Serengeti National Park via Fort Ikoma gate in the afternoon. Explore Northern Serengeti with sunset game drives around Kogatende and Mara River. Check in at Sayari Camp for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay. All meals included. Day 01 | Arrival This day is set aside for your arrival into Tanzania and our representative meets you on arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport. He or she will transfer you to your lodge around Arusha either at Planet Lodge in Arusha town. Day 02 | Tarangire National Park After a long flight to Africa we usually recommend starting easy while also cutting down the distances and so after breakfast you will be picked up and transferred to Tarangire National Park in a 4×4 Safari jeep. At Tarangire we register at the gate and continue with game drives for the rest of the day as we explore the African wilderness for the first day of our safari. Day 07 | Serengeti National Park Early morning breakfast and check out of the lodge or camp and drive backwards to the Ngorongoro Crater. Day 04 | Full day Serengeti National Park Your Tanzania and Zanzibar honeymoon will continue. Day 01 | Arusha – Lake Manyara National Park Pick up from your hotel in Arusha around 08.00 Hrs and transfer to Lake Manyara National Park approximately 2 hours’ drive from Arusha town. Lake Manyara National park is located at the floor of the Great Rift Valley and the park is measures 330 Km Sq of which 220 Km Sq is the water body and 110 Km Sq is the land. Lake Manyara National Park is usually famous for its legendary tree climbing lions, but it is a park that is rich with wildlife and birdlife alike. You expecte to spot a lot of elephants, lions, zebras, giraffes, warthogs, antelope species, and at the lake you expect to see the hippos, and many aquatic birds including gees and the colouful flamingos. Day 02 | Lake Manyara to Serengeti National Park After an early morning breakfast you are off to Serengeti National park. Driving through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, you will enter the Serengeti via the Naabi Hill gate and go ahead with game viewing en route to the lodge or tented camp. If you are interested; you will have a brief stop at The Olduvai Gorge to witness the excavations of the Leakey’s family who discovered some human fossils of the Australopithecus Boisei, a discovery that led to the belief that indeed first man dwelt in Africa. Your overnight will be at Into Wild Africa Camp or Serengeti Heritage Camp or similar camp in Central Serengeti. All meals included. Camps at Northern Serengeti (near Mara River) can be included for wildebeests migration safari but at a different cost. Day 03 – 04 | Two more days at Serengeti National Park These days are spent at the Serengeti plains doing game drives. Here you have the choice to do the early morning game drives if you so wish. This will give you the chance to see nocturnal species retire from a night out as well as the diurnal majority waking up for a new day. The Serengeti National Park is famous for the wildebeest’s herds and the guide will advise on which areas to explore depending on the time that you will be visiting and the location of the herds. Apart from the wildebeests Serengeti is home for many wild animals and birds. You expect to see many topis, gazelles, zebras, hartebeests, bufallos, elephants, leopards and cheetahs. Serengeti is also home to recorded 500 birds species so abirders haven as well. 02 FB overnight at at Into Wild Africa Camp or Serengeti Heritage Camp. All meals included. Day 05 | Serengeti – Ngorongoro After breakfast we drive back via the Naabi Hill gate to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. On arrival we will descend 600 mts down the Crater wall to the floor of the World’s greatest unbroken Caldera for a wonderful day of game drives. The Ngorongoro Crater is world renowned for the highest concentration of animals and it is here where you get the greatest chance of spotting the Big five in one day. A world biosphere reserve the Crater was declared a world heritage site by the United Nations body UNESCO. Among other animals you will see lions, cheetahs, zebras, warthogs, silver back jackals etc. Later in the afternoon before dark we drive to the Crater rim to check in at Rhino Lodge inside the NCAA or Country Lodge or Marera Valley Lodge at Karatu nearby. All meals included. Day 06 | Tarangire National Park The proceeds starts with a drive to the fifth largest national park in Tanzania which is Tarangire National Park.. With a lunch box carried from Arusha you will have that chance to do game drives the whole day. This day will be spent on the savannah plains in search of wild animals including zebras, elands, impalas, gazelles, and the rare species of Kudus. Large herds of elephants are also one of Tarangire highlights as well as the large baobab trees. Later in the afternoon, you will drive to Karatu where you will check in at a lodge for dinner and overnight. Overnight will be at the Lake Burunge Tented Lodge or similar. All meals included. Day 07 | Tarangire – Back to Arusha Breakfast at your camp / lodge in Tarangire then you will head out to the plains in the Tarangire National Park for one last game drive (if you wish – time allowing).
